Land use
What is land use? Land use is the removing of the natural environment to build or add something for human use. This could include houses, parking lots, businesses, or even farms. Land use is bad for the environment in many different ways. Eric lambin states “ At a global scale, land is becoming a scarce resource, asserting the need for more efficient land use allocation and innovation in agriculture”. When more land is used up then that causes the other businesses or establishments to compete for the remaining land space. Once all the land is taken up there could be no room for natural wildlife or nature and our world can take a drastic turn.

I think that land use is something that is effecting the world gin many different ways. They are using land use for more of building buildings to help the people. I think that instead of building new buildings we should renovate the older buildings. I know that it may be more expensive but I think that doing this will help save more of the environment and animal living spaces. Doing this will help with Conservation and Extinction.
ReplyDeleteI believe that land use is a big factor in our world today because you’re taking down animals habitats and affecting the environment more. The machines that are being used are polluting the air more and more everyday. So instead of taking down the environment and animals habitats and using machines that pollute the air we should renovate the old buildings and make them good to live in to save the environment.
ReplyDeleteLand use is a very broad topic, I like that you gave us the basic fundamentals of land use. That is helpful when first learning about land use and I think your blog post is educating to people who are just looking into land use. I also enjoyed that your post has some what of a global stand point too. That is making us not just look at local land use but instead we can start looking into land use that is not as prevalent in our area currently. Your post was very eye opening and has led me to have more questions I can research as we further our knowledge on land use. Thank you for posting, it was quite helpful!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of land structure I think of all the trees and other resources used to make the buildings replaced by them. A thing that also comes to mind is infrastructure or how something is built so in some places city’s and towns are build upwards and others are more spread out. I think that people should try to find a way to use less resources while still building a strong building, while also doing things like replanting trees they cut down.
