Environmental Resources- Resource Use and its Consequences Blog#3

Continuing my search about Environmental Resources I have found an article that pertains to the Consumption of Resources and the consequences that follow. In the article it states that, “Resource use is freighted with consequences. It inevitably generates emissions and other untoward environmental effects across the entire lifecycle of each and every product.” Even though people all over the world use environmental resources such as; Water, soil, chemicals, etc. For beneficial and positive reasons, there will always be a consequence that will soon follow, whether positive or negative.

The article goes on to state, “Even the extraction and production of renewable resources often involve extensive use of energy, materials, chemicals and in some cases water; and all this translates into pollution.” In turn, when a small number of businesses make use of the environment and the resources that it offers it is not a major problem. But when you start to have companies and businesses all over the globe burn excessive amounts of vital resources that our environment and the species that depend on the environment needs to survive, then it becomes a major problem that we will not have any control over if it continues to increase and excel at the rate that it is going. Resources can destroy landscape.

  1. Yes, scale of our resource matters hugely. // Have you read anything about fracking? It's controversial just now.

  2. I think that we should use resources that are renewable and good for us without making as much emissions as we do, and not using things that don't come back as fast like trees, but we can use sun or water energy because those things are never going to go away, and they don't have many emissions.
