Phosphorus/Blog 4-Holly Barney

We use phosphorus in our everyday lives and some of these ways may seem new to you unless you’ve already read up on it.Phosphorus within itself was discovered in 1669, but they developed its qualities from their urine. If you didn’t know we do have phosphorus in our urine. Now we develop phosphorus in different ways, but still use it effectively everyday in our society. Here are some of its uses.

  1. Phosphate compounds are in the production of fertilizers.
  2. Phosphorus is used in the manufacture of safety matches
  3. steel manufacture and phosphor bronze.
  4. LED lighting
  5. In some detergents
As you can see it’s not as prominent as all the other land resources, but it is used quite a lot.

  1. I like how you gave us a lot of examples of how we have phosphorus in our system and our everyday lives. It’s cool that phosphorus is in our urine and also things like LED lights and some detergents.
